Privacy Policy

Introduction

Paces is an iPhone app for runners and cyclists that helps you convert between pace, time, distance, and speed. You can calculate finish times from your pace, find the pace you need for a target time, or figure out how long a ride will take at a given speed.

Information We Collect

Paces does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information for its core functionality. The App performs pace, time, distance, and speed calculations directly on your device. We do not operate any backend servers that receive your personal data for these core features.

Any app preferences and locally used values remain on your device and are not sent to us or any third party, except for anonymized analytics data described below.

Use of TelemetryDeck for Analytics

We use the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck (provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany) to analyze usage data. The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, as we require reliable and efficient tools for collecting app usage data in order to fulfill the contract with you, our customer.

What data is transferred?

The data processed by TelemetryDeck is completely anonymized and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about personal information.

The following data is collected, among other things:

• An anonymized, untraceable user ID (per app installation)
• Actions defined by the app publisher (e.g., "app launched," "calculator used")
• A rounded timestamp (to the nearest hour)
• Device metadata (e.g., system version, app version, device type)
• Additional metadata defined by the app publisher

What is not stored?

• No IP addresses (not in logs, not in the database)
• No cookies or tracking technologies
• No persistent identifiers that could be traced back to individuals

Third-Party Services

Paces does not require you to create an account or sign in to a third-party service in order to use its core functionality. The only third-party service used by the App is TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly, anonymized usage analytics as described above.

Data Storage & Security

Paces stores any necessary app state and preferences locally on your device. We do not operate backend servers or databases in connection with the App's pace conversion features. Your calculation inputs and usage remain under your control, aside from the anonymized analytics events described in this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
